State College, PA – “I\’m an associate professor of English and women\’s studies at Penn State University. My stories have appeared in many journals, including The Antioch Review, Grand Street, STORY, The New Yorker, Epoch, and New Letters, and have been cited for excellence in Best American Stories and the O. Henry Prize Stories Anthology, as well as included in New Stories from the South. I\’ve published one collection, Gifts and Other Stories. I\’ve received awards from the Pennsylvania Arts Council, the Writers\’ Exchange project sponsored by Poets & Writers, Inc., and the Bread Loaf Writers\’ Conference, a residency from the Millay Colony for the Arts, and the D.H. Lawrence Fellowship in Fiction and a Wallace Stegner Fellowship.
    I live in State College, Pennsylvania with one husband, two dachshunds, and two cats.”
