Oakland, CA –  “I was born in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1970 and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; I wrote As in Every Deafness (Flood Editions, 2003), Leave the Room to Itself (Ahsahta Press, 2003), Necessary Stranger (Flood Editions, 2007), and A Mouth in California (Flood Editions, forthcoming). I teach in the graduate and undergraduate programs at Saint Mary’s College of California. 

\”I have three degrees from three different institutions of higher learning; I am married; I have no pets.  Some of my poems have been translated into Dutch; I’ve published critical essays on Wallace Stevens, Jack Spicer, Willie Nelson, Lisa Jarnot, and Frederick Seidel; I enjoy karaoke, reading the dictionary, and cooking my own meals.”
