Newtonville, MA – James has published fiction in One Story, American Short Fiction, Quick Fiction, Memorious, flatmancrooked, and other journals. His stories have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and the Best New American Voices anthology. He has won scholarships and fellowships to the New York State Summer Writers’ Institute, Wesleyan Writers’ Conference and Sewanee Writers’ Conference. He earned his MFA from Emerson College, where he won the Presidential Award and served as the fiction editor of Redivider. Currently, he teaches fiction workshops at the Grub Street Writing Center.
