San Francisco, CA – Kirsten was born in Newton, MA and received her BA from Framingham State College in 1989. She also completed studies at Kensington College, London, England and Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, MA.  Stolle’s work is included in the permanent collection of the Crocker Museum of Art, Sacramento, CA and the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, MN as well several corporate collections. Select solo exhibitions include Butters Gallery, Portland, OR; Trillium Press, Brisbane, CA; Julie Nester Gallery, Park City, UT and Markel Fine Arts, NYC. Stolle has also been included in New American Paintings (2005)  and Eleven Eleven Journal of Literature and Art (2008). In 2009, Stolle was awarded the highly competitive San Francisco Arts Commission Cultural Equity Grant for Individual Artists.  The grant will be used to support the development of her project \”Anatomy of a Future Forest\”, a visual arts and educational project that explores future ecological scenarios within the context of global warming and other environmental impacts. The project will culminate in an exhibition at Dolby Chadwick Gallery in 2010.
