NICHOLAS BOGGS

Washington, D.C.-  Nicholas grew up in Washington, D.C. and received his B.A. in English from Yale, his Ph.D. in English from Columbia, and most recently, his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from American University.  From 2005-2006, he was an Andrew Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Humanities at Wesleyan University.  For his fiction writing, he has been awarded a 2008 Artist\’s Fellowship from the DC Commission on the Arts as well as residencies at the Blue Mountain Center, Ragdale, and the Virginia Center for Creative Arts (the latter as a Cafritz Foundation Fellow).  His writing has appeared or is forthcoming in James Baldwin Now (NYU Press), Callaloo,and African American Review, and he is currently writing a novel and a non-fiction book about James Baldwin.  At Millay, he\’ll be working on a second draft of the novel.
