STATUS OF APPLICATION: Email notifications to all applicants regarding the status of their application will be sent out by the end of January for the October deadline & the end of May for the March deadline.
Participants in our artists residency programs are chosen anonymously by a panel of jurors.The application process is competitive and The Millay Colony accepts residents solely on the basis of artistic merit. Our admissions policy does not discriminate with regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, marital status, disability or nation of origin. We do not require references.
If invited, no fees are charged for these residencies.

A $40 (US dollars) fee or $60 for the late deadline is required for both online application and mail-in applications. The online portal for applications is available HERE.
NOTE: Transportation costs are the responsibility of the artist. The Colony does not pay a living allowance.Stipends are available for select artists.
One-Month and Two-Week Residencies: The core of our program is the one-month residency. However, in order to accommodate artists who cannot partake of a month-long residency, we now offer two two-week sessions in June and September. Both options include private bedrooms/studios, and all meals.
The Group Artist Residency: The Millay Colony awards two five-day Group Residencies each year to between three and seven collaborating artists. This is available to any artists’ groups, including but not only musicians, publishing collectives, theater and dance troupes, galleries, etc.—or simply individuals collaborating on a project.
Stipends: We work with funders and friends to offer a range of fellowship residencies and stipends for artists. You can find more information here or contact our office to discuss.
