The Millay Colony for the Arts is available to rent for retreats, parties, brainstorming, and many special events, including WEDDINGS (see below).  There have been numerous gatherings on our lovely grounds including an alumni reunion of 200 guests.

ATTENTION WORKSHOP LEADERS: As the Colony is also perfect for smaller groups of participants and while we offer our own workshops, you are welcome to rent our facilities for a flat fee.  We will help you market/publicize your offering on our website and SM but all of the rest: schedule, participants, food, etc. will be up to you.

Our spectacular location provides plenty of amazing escapes: strolls and hikes as well as bicycling, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing; there are also multiple spots of swimming (lakes, rivers, ponds) during the summer. If needed, we can help make additional arrangements at local inns and B&Bs; there are also numerous AIRBNBs available.

What a privilege to work in such idyllic surroundings. Millay has been a feast and a sanctuary for us all. For a few days, we are able to be completely absorbed in our craft and leave feeling refreshed and emboldened toward what we need to accomplish as writers. Thank you for this golden raft of paradise.                                                  ~Sarah Gambito

I’ve spent a magical week as part of a group retreat at the Millay Colony for the past two years which allowed me freedom and, most importantly, time—to work on essays and what will be my fourth collection of poems. At Millay, I felt pampered and at peace, and each time I was there proved very fruitful. I often daydream about those glorious weeks of rest and literary productivity–which should in fact, contradict each other, but my stay at Millay proved to be a beautiful experiment of what abundance could result in “a room of one’s own.” Having that brief time away to focus on my writing made me return home revitalized and refreshed. I’m deeply grateful to the staff of the Millay Colony for a most restorative and successful stay.                                    ~Aimee Nezhukumatathil, alumna and Guggenheim Fellow, 2019
